Wow I really suck as a blogger.
Tuesday night was White Trash Tuesday with 4 of my dearest friends. We had a "delicious" dinner of Hot Dogs, Cole Slaw, Potato Chips, Iced Tea and White Trash Cupcakes for dessert (Cupcakes made from a mix of course. I chose lemon accidentally. I thought it was a yellow cake mix until I opened it and smelled the lemon , That should be a good enough lesson for always wearing my glasses when looking for items. While the cupcakes cook mix up whatever flavor jello you like but use just the one cup of boiling water. Don't add the additional cold water. I chose mixed fruit. When the cupcakes are baked but still warm, poke holes in them with regular spaghetti , dry of course. About a dozen holes each is good. let them sit until they cool the frost with vanilla instant pudding. I did gussie it up a bit with some orange extract. Let that sit a little longer then just before serving you are supposed to cover the whole thing with Cool Whip. Even on White Trash Tuesday I have standards I have to meet. I refuse to ever use Cool Whip, so I did top mine with real whipped cream . Sorry but I just can't use the fake stuff. Which goes to show, even crappy ingredients taste pretty palatable when covered in cream.)
Wednesday night we had my folks over. Since it is so bloomin' hot right now no one really wants to do much toward cooking. I made some mustard b-b-q sauce (the really cheap kind of mustard, brown sugar, worchestershire sauce, salt, pepper, chili powder, cayenne, a dollop of butter) to go on grilled pork chops, fresh green beans, sliced tomatoes, couscous, and brownies for dessert. Oh and did I mention iced tea for the drink. perhaps tonight I will be inspired to make something wonderful...but I doubt it. It is still to dang hot to think about cooking

Day 1 I suppose since this is the first time I have done this
Dinner/Supper/The Evening Meal, Whatever you call it it is pretty much a universal event. Maybe not universal. I have no idea if there are other beings in the universe, much less what and how they might eat. I do know that dinner comes about each day around here. It does not mean I cook. We tend to eat out a lot, but I also cook a lot. Sometimes I make very nice meals that go together well and touch all the various nutritional requirements, and sometimes I create fodder, just to appease the appetite and get us through to the next day. I will post the good the bad and the really horrid. If anyone reads this they will see . So I am starting with tonight. We grilled hamburgers out on the grill and served it with baked beans (purchased from Publix and microwave reheated). We did include thick slices of onions and tomatoes on the burgers but it was pretty basic. I would love to say I had baked the buns form scratch, but so you honestly think anyone who would buy deli cooked baked beans would actually back burger rolls? I don't think so either. I did at least buy whole wheat buns. Woo hoo Burgers and beans, anyone want to nominate me for mother of the year? Maybe tomorrow will be better? Maybe not?
